Cockatoo Island. Apart from the art festival, there were lots to interest us photographers. Lots of old warehouses, abandoned heavy machinery, unexplained bits of rusted metal and the questions they bring. I remember a time when I would have walked past all this without another glance. Now I can spend a whole day there…
Interestingly, the island is normally open to tourists. You can rent a campsite and tent there and stay overnight. With all the abandoned heavy equipment around, is it really safe? But then I guess most of the warehouses would usually be closed, but there is still some equipment out in the open…
