What makes a battery leak? I thought that leaky batteries were a result of old battery technology and that it didn’t happen anymore. However here is an Energizer CR2032 battery that was used for only 2 months. I told Energizer but they didn’t really seem to care once they confirmed it didn’t destroy the item the battery was in, and thus I wasn’t going to sue them.
It was used in a thermometer, and stored in a cool place. I found this after not using it for about a month. Luckily I was able to clean most of the mess out of the thermometer, which is now a bit flaky but still works. No kudos to Energizer, who as soon as they found out nobody was hurt, stopped responding to any emails.
